Worse. By trying to evade the Estate Recovery Unit, everything you own can be subject to MediCal's reimbursement.

The Department of Health Services (The Department) will request repayment from the estate of a deceased Medi-Cal beneficiary upon notice of death. Estate is defined as any assets owned by the Medi-Cal beneficiary, including assets distributed through joint tenancy, tenancy in common, survivorship, life estate, living trust or other arrangements.

You should have talked to an attorney, prior to trying to evade MediCal.
