Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
mother has passed away without a will i am her only living relative ( her daughter ), and her bank closed her account after i showed themed the death certificate and sent her a check for the remaining money in her account in her name so how am i to transfer it to my name. im stuck. please help?!!!

You may have to start a Probate or at the very least be named as the executor of her estate. It depends on the total value of her estate. It is possible that the bank can be provided the forms showing a total estate valued at under $100,000 and will reissue the check to you based on that, again this depends on a number of factors.
