Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
My mother recently died and I am executor of her trust. I know nothing about how to go about settling her estate, which is quite simple, a home and some investments.

As trustee, you should hire an attorney to walk you through the steps to administer the trust. If you are executor nominated by will, whether a probate proceeding will be required or not depends on how title to property is held and the total value of the estate.
