Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

my mother had trust. she died leaving my sister and i. my sister was executor and kept most of money or spent dont know. my sister died and i am now trustee. my sister and mom lived in texas. i have no paperwork no will nothing.. do i just go to bank and tell them i want to access accounts? i have no idea what to do. i do know my sisters husband is trying to get her accounts but cannot because of me. now he wants to fly out here and have me sign some papers. sounds fishy

don't sign! Get your own lawyer and have him send a letter demanding that all relevant documents be forwarded to you.

If your mother left a trust for you and your sister, then the trustee (your sister) should have sent you annual accountings or, depending on the terms of the trust, she may have been required to make distributions. You need a lawyer to help you obtain all relevant documents including the trust instrument.

You need a Texas lawyer on this. California lawyers cannot help you. Definitely do not sign ANYTHING without an attorney looking at it.
