Mothers bank account

My mother passed away Jan 1, 2001. She left a bank account with about $1600.00 in it without a beneficiary on the account. We need to know how to get the bank to release the funds. She has a very small life insurance policy with all six of us children listed as beneficiaries and have taken steps to claim those funds. Thank you for your help.

Ask the bank for a Probate Code Section 13100 Affidavit. That should do the trick. If you would like to know more, please feel free to visit our website.

There is a simple affidavit you need to fill out. If the bank cannot provide you with a form they use any lawyer can write one up for you for about $25
