Mother's boyfriend named me in will

My mother's long term boyfriend left myself and husband as POA, and set up his will naming us as both Executors and recipients of all properties. We sold their mobile home, and when we received the check, it was payable to ''the estate of stepdad by name''. Our bank said that they required court papers of some sort...

Get a tax id for the estate and show them a copy of the will. If the probate estate is under $100,000, you don't need to go through probate, so you shouldn't have to get papers from the court.

If the value of the decedent's property is valued less than $ 100K, then you may gain title of the property by declaration, otherwise, you would need to probate. Contact me directly.
