Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My mothers Estate

My mother died when I was 12 and to this day I have not received my part of her estate. It has been 23 years. My younger siblings have long ago received theirs. How can I find out the specifics of the whole estate?

Re: My mothers Estate

We would need to know some more information. Basically whether she had a trust, a will or died intestate without a will. My guess is that your guardian at the time recieved some communication in relation to this, he/she would be a good person to start with. Next your siblings should be able to tell you who the executor (will or intestate) or trustee (trust) was. That person is probably your best contact. If she died without a trust (or similiar conveyance) then the probate proceedings would have been public information. If that is the case you should check with the County in which her estate was administered, they should be able to get you a copy of either the will or any probate documents. Basically you have not provided us with enough information to give you a good answer.
