Can a non US Citizen who is also a convicted felon become a successor trustee?

Probably not because he cannot be bonded, if the trust calls for that requirement. And even if trust does not call for bonding of the trustee, a beneficiary could petiton the probate court to order trustee be bonded.

There is no legal reason they could not be a successor trustee, but as Mr. Waid points out they might have trouble qualifying if a bond is required.

I'm actually amazed that a convicted non-US citizen would still be in the country to even function as a trustee. A felony conviction would qualify for deportation proceedings.
