Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Non-responsive executor

My mother died 18 months ago. The

person named as executor of the

trust has not provided any

information regarding assets or

liabilities to the trust. None of the

beneficiaries have received any

information, except the executor and

her daughter who are minor

beneficiaries. What are my options?

I am sorry for your loss. You should make a written demand to the trustee for diclosure. If the trustee refuses, you may need to bring legal action against her. You should consult your own attorney to protect your legal rights.

Re: Non-responsive executor

A Petition for Accounting is the normal redress in your situation. This is a Petition to the Court, and the Trustee, demanding a complete accounting of the trust assets.
