Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

This is a notary question in regards to Sequential Journal Line Entry. ID verification has to be current or issued within five years. What is the rule when a drivers license is used for ID which is not current, had not been renewed and was expired months before and contains no physical description or photo? Would this be valid identification even if the document was drafted by an attorney as well as being the notary know to the signer of the Trust. Medical conditions & circumstances exist in this issue. Please help.. Thanks.
