Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Notice to Mortagage company

Since my mother passed, I have notified her mortgage company via phone/fax. However, do I need to send a formal Notice to Creditors to them if I am re-fing the property in my name before close of probate via approval from court (meaning they'd be paid off)?
