I assume the case has not yet been probated. You want the original, not a copy. You have to find out from him where he might have put it and prehaps help him find it. If he refuses, tell him that you will have to go to the state bar. If probate has already occurred, the original of the Will should be attached to the petition for probate and you can get a certified or non-certified copy from the county superior court clerk's office, but phone ahead to see that it is not already in storage.

If Mr. Berg is an attorney, then what you will need to do is find out who has taken over Mr. Berg's practice and who is now assisting his clients. Can you reach Mr. Berg or any of his family and current and/or former associates? You may be able to find this information through the State Bar of CA as well (or with their assistance).

If Mr. Berg was not an attorney, then what was his capacity and relation to your late husband? Accountant?

There are ways to get to the document, it will be easier with Mr. Berg's assistance, but, if necessary, there are alternative means.

Additionally, do you have a copy f the original? If so, there is allowances for copies to be administered when the orginal is no longer available. This might become necessary depending on how difficult it is to reach Mr. Berg.
