Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Power of Attorney
My father passed away August 22, 2002. He left behind a retirement fund through his work. He had no will, no spouse just his next-of-kin, me. They will not release this account to me with out Power of Attorney, can they do that? My father was an average, disabled man who was on disability, he lived in a small apartment, and had no real assets. If I have to get this Power of Attorney, is it affordable?
Thank you ~ K.M.

Re: Power of Attorney
It depends partly on the amount of the fund. There are other methods of freeing up assets like this, other than POA.
