Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Power of Attorney

Since I already have Power of Attorney for my Mother as in the Living Trust my parents got in 92 and my father has passed away in 97. Why did I need a conservership?

Re: Power of Attorney

If you're an agent under the power of attorney you shouldn't need a conservatorship to manage your mother's assets. I am not sure what you mean about the living trust. If you don't have a power of attorney, but are instead the trustee of the living trust, then you only have the authority to manage trust assets. You would need a conservatorship to manage your mother's assets. Those assets could include her pension or social security income.
