The probate code provides some of the rules regarding trusts, but there are significant differences between adminstration of wills and trusts. One rule that is particularly different is notification of beneficiaries after death. The area is complex and you should consider consulting an attorney if you have additional questions.

Yes, some of the rules for probate do apply to trusts, such as creditors of the estate. They are vastly different, however, with different time frames.
