probate
when a property is going for authorization for sale..can the public come and bid on the property at the hearing?

It depends--if there's a court hearing to confirm the sale, it's usually open for overbids. If it's just a mailed notice saying "notice of proposed action," there's no court confirmation hearing required unless a beneficiary objects.
If you plan to overbid at the hearing, check with the estate's attorney for the requirements first, as you'll need to show up with the ability to make a down payment and agree to the contract terms there at the hearing.
