Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Probate, when required?
My brother recently died. He left no will or trust. His ''worth '' is less than 100k. Is all what is required to submit the form to the superior court to allow me access to his bank account and sell his vehicle after the 40 day waiting period? Do I have to file in California or can it all be done fron Nevada where I live? Is there any other items that must be placed in newspapers or...? After all is filed what is next?
Thank you very much.

In a simple answer, no you do not need to open a Probate and yes, most of the forms can be filled in and mailed to the proper offices.
