Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Probate: What are my rights?
My mother died three years ago. My sister was named the executor. In the will, the assets are to be distributed 50/50. My sister has replaced all of the locks on the house and did not give me a key. She refuses provide the court with property evaluations, financial statements, and she does not return any of my calls. This is not a sizable estate. The lawyer(This attorney drafted the will,) that represents my sister filed a motion to be removed as her counsel; and then changed his mind at the last minute.
I am going through a very hard time right now, and I do not have the funds to retain a lawyer. I am at a loss as to what to do. As a beneficiary of the will, do I have any rights at all? Is it possible to
to have my sister removed as executor? If so, what do I have to do, and is this something I can do myself, as no one is representing my interests?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

There may be low cost legal services available in your county- try the yellow pages or call the county bar association.
Even without a lawyer, it may help to let the court know about these problems. Put your requests in writing to your sister and her attorney, and copy to the court.
