Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

probate

I am being solicited by an assets retrieval company that claims the ''unclaimed funds'' need to be claimed before the probate on my mother's estate closes. This seems odd to me since there is only one heir and one administrator of the estate with no disputes.

Puhleeze. It's probably some @#$% in Nigeria. The legitimate unclaimed fund website (covering all 50 state treasurers' offices) is unclaimed dot org. If you find something, tell the executor.

If there are unclaimed funds, you can find out through the state controllers' websites, or start at unclaimed.org.
