Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Prooving I am an Heir

Hi, I just had a question as to how, exactly you proove you are an heir. I need a legal document prooving I am an heir. My father died intestate, and I am the sole heir, but I need to proove that to certain creditors, how do I do that? Is there a form I need?

Re: Prooving I am an Heir

In California you do that in Probate, unless the estate is of the size and nature that it can be distributed without a probate, by affidavit. Consult a lawyer.

Without knowing more, commencing a probate action may be one way to solve the problem.
