Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Is it proper for an attorney for a Trust to receive payment for their fees ($38,000.00) directly from the trust without seeking court approval? Is it proper for a Trustee to reimburse himself, from the Trust, fees he has paid an attorney without court approval? The Trust is for a person under a conservatorship and the attorney being paid from the Trust is not the attorney for the conservator, he is the attorney for a trustee. Thank you.

Of course not, and the judge, the District Attorney, the State Bar, the other trust beneficiaries, and the Adult Protective Services are all in a position to do something about it.
