Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

pwer of attorney

I would like to know how I can obtain public records on and individual? I am joint 'Power of Attorney' for my mother, along with my brother. Just as a little background. My mother is in a rest care center due to terminal cancer. His stories do not coincide with those of the primary caregivers at the rest care center, and the State Medicaid office. when there is Just recently my brother called me asking for a large sum of money for mom's care at the rest care center. When I asked for documentation he got extremely angry and said I'll take care of it myself. You see, I am in California, and my mother and brother are in Indiana, so I have to do a lot of needles research to get any information. I have written to you prior to see about getting my borhter's rights as "Power Of Attorney" revoked due to his negligence. I now need to know exactly what steps I can take legally to see this through. I only want to see that my mother is cared for properly, and that is not being taken care of by my brother, because I spoke with the bookkeeper at the rest care center today (4/12/00) who told me she had to get the paperwork together with the State Medicaid office to get subsidation for my mother's stay there. Can you please help me?????

Re: pwer of attorney

What you need to do is contact an attorney specializing in probate and elder care in the county in Indiana where your mother resides. If her estate is being dissipated or she is not receiving the proper care, a guardianship can be established revoking the power of attorney, if that is necessary. It's difficult to remove one on the POA without removing you also.
