Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Real Estate Title - after death of grantor

This is regarding the title to a condominium after the death of the grantor. The condo is part of a Living Trust.

I was told that the Trustees must now list all of the names of the beneficiaries as owners of the condo on the Title, after the death of the grantor. Is this a legal requirement?

If so, is there a deadline for the Trustees to make this change?

Re: Real Estate Title - after death of grantor

The successor trustee needs to read the trust. Normally the condo would be sold and the money distributed to the named beneficiaries. Occasionally when there are only a couple of beneficiaries the real property is transferred to the beneficiaries by putting the property in their name. However, with a lot of folks on the title this is very cumbersome. If all the beneficiaries want the money they may make that election and authorize the successor trustee to sell the property and distribute the money.
