Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I received a ratification of appointment letter for a fiduciary, for my living grandfather and deceased aunt. It says I the undersigned am the sole surviving grandchild of (name) a widower. I hereby acknowledge apporve and ratify the appointment of (fiduciary name) to handle all affairs of the deceased. What role I am I in this ratification? My Mother is alive, but not on good terms with her father, and I believe she is not listed in his trust. So, am I the only one approving this action?~ California

I would suggest you obtain a letter of explanation from the attorney who sent that document to you; sounds like to me you may also be authorizing payment of the fiduciary in management of the trust. If the explanation is insuffient, obtain trust/probate counsel to represent you in the obtaining an explanation.
