Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Am I responsible for my mother's debt, since I am a signer on her bank account and the executrix. She has a lot of debt.

If you did nothing to obtain to help your mother obtain the debt, you are not liable for the debt. However, as the executor you may have an obligation to accumulate your mother assets and probate her estate. Also, to the extent anyone receives any of your mother's assets, some liability may follow the asset.
