Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Revocable Living Will Trust Changes

I have a revocable living trust. I need to change the

address of the property in this trust as I am selling it

and purchasing another property. The attorney I had

prepare it has moved out of state. Could I get a legal

form and fill it out myself as to the change of address

on the property and do I have to have it notorized. I can

then attach it to the living trust I have on file.

Will appreciate an answer to this. Thank You

I would recommend you get another estate planning lawyer. While you might be able to amend the trust by yourself, you should establish a relationship with a lawyer that will be able to handle the trust's interests in the future. I would be happy to discuss this matter with you if you wish.

To properly transfer the new property to the living trust, you need to have a trust transfer deed drafted, executed, notarized and recorded. A mere change of address will not put the new property into the trust's ownership. If the new property is in California, I may be able to help you transfer it to the trust.
