Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

my rights as a child of deceased

my mother died in a car accident.

she had a life insurance policy for a lot off money, there is no benificary on the policy, but i was the the only one who knew about it, and my mom told me it was for me.

she did not have a will, but my father is still alive.

do i have a legal right to claim the $, since i was the one paying the bill for the insurance, and it was a credit card co. were my mom and i were joint on the account. she removed my father from the account, two years ago.

also the home is at stake, what rights do i have, if any to try to get control of the estate. my parents were on my taxes as dependents for the past 3 years. i also paid for all of my mothers medical bills, and her home improvements when needed.

Your question does not give enough facts. Are your parents still married or are they divorced? This makes a difference. Also , do you have any siblings? You may have a claim against the estate for reimbusement of expenses at the very least.
