Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Separating assets for non-divorced couples
My mother and father are still legally married. However, my father is becoming quite a "liability" and I would like to somehow separate my mother's assets from my father's assets in case someone decides to sue my father. Besides getting a legal divorce, can this be done and if so how do I go about doing this?

if she has assets that are her seperate property she just needs to keep them in her name.
