Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

I have signed an acceptance of appointment as Successor Trustee for my brother's living trust. Currently he is the Trustee and I have no duties. I have determined at this time that I would not wish to act as Successor Trustee. How do I "resign" my appointment as Successor Trustee?

Ask your brother to amend the trust to omit you as a successor trustee. Or, when the time comes, you put in writing to the next successor trustee that you will not serve.
