I am the sole death benefits beneificary and I have 4 siblings, are the death benefits part of the estate?

You do not define what the death benefits are. If they are insurance policies or the like in which a beneficary is named, those benfits go to that person and are not part of the estate assets. If the benefit is payable to the dead person or the estate, then they are part of the estate assets.
