Sole heir,no will
My mother passed away 1 week ago,left no will,I am the sole heir and am disabled receiving ssdi. My mother received medi-cal to pay for nursing home expenses. There is no estate on ly asmall house that is worth very little that I have lived in for 14 years and paid her home loan off,so there are no liens on it and she owes noone anythig.Help,what do I need to do and what will happen,please help as I have no money.

you need to open probate. the fees and costs will come from the sale of the home, unless they can be raised some other way. you can protect your benefits with a good strategy.

We can very likely help you so please contact me! Medi-cal usually comes after the house after death. HOWEVER, theere is an exception if any of the heirs are disabeled. You thus would likely be able to keep the house! Call me ASAP. -John
