Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Special Needs Trust
I have a son who is autistic. He will be turning 18 next December and is currently living in a group home.
What should I start doing now to prepare for a transition to an adulthood?

you should retain a qualified attorney to provide advise and prepare any legal documents which may be needed. for more information see:

Sounds like it's time for a conservatorship at least and maybe an SNT also. Call my office and ask for Jennifer. She is our attorney who focuses on these areas of law! We do work throughout California.
Re: Special Needs Trust
One option to consider is whether you want to become your son's conservator, which (if granted) will give you the legal authority to make decisions for him.
