Yes there are Statutes of Limitations that would apply. You would really need to sit down with an attorney and g over the Probate documents and the facts to know exactly how these statutes might apply. For example, was the fact that the property was taken from the Estate concealed? When did the sister first discover the property was taken? Unfortunately, if your firend has known all along that the property was taken by the sister and simply argued about it without filing suit, then she's probably waited too long. If the property is worth less than $7,500, maybe she should just go to small claims court.
