Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Structure Best protection against litigation

We currently have a revocable trust which owns the title to my house, cars and personal belongings and bank accounts; and a Limited Partnership which has title to various stocks, partnerships, unimporved land and cash. We are worried about the safety of our assets in this litigous time we live in. For protection against suits, where is the best location for assets--liquid or non-liquid? In the partnership or the trust? Which one is the most difficult to find and penetrate?

Liquid assets are generally harder to find than non-liquid assets, but it depends. The best structure for your investments depends on your circumstances and often has more to do with how they are established and managed rather than the particular structure.
