summary estate procedures

My brother died intestate in CA with only a small amt. of assets. What is the procedure for summary administration of his estate?

It depends on exactly what assets he had. If he had real estate then there is one procedure. If not real estate, and under $100,000, then you can use California Probate Code 13100 "forms." You might find those on line, maybe at some banks, or if not then you can hire an attorney to prepare them for you. The cost should no be great; maybe a few hundred dollars or so depending on how many 13100 declarations you need prepared. Good luck and let us know if we can help you!
