Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Supplemental Security Income and Real Estate Inheritance
Recently a neighbor had a mentaly deficient man and his girlfriend sign a Gift Grant Deed over to him. He the inheritor of the real estate and both the man that deeded over his property and his live in girlfriend are all on SSI as their sole income. The inheritor already has one deeded property that he lives on. Can he have 2 separate deeds and be on SSI or does he need to do a spend down and sell one of the real properties as SSI allows the reciepient only one property per person because of the asset limits?

Re: Supplemental Security Income and Real Estate Inheritance
There is insuffient clear information in your question. The deed is invalid if the man signing the deed did not have mental capacity. The heirs of the man who deeded the property should sue to void the deed. The rest of your quesiton I can't figure out.
