I am the only surviving child of my deceased mother she left everything to a grandchild can i contest it

You may be able to contest, depending on specific facts. Without particular facts, your contest would not be succesful.
You can always contest a will, if you do it in time. If the will was properly drafted to exclude you, however, your contest will not be successful. If it just left everything to someone else and makes no mention of you, it might likely be successful. Of course there are innumerable variations that would result in various outcomes. You'll need to talk with a lawyer in person about your specific facts and circumstances.
I agree with Mr. McCormick. You need to take the relevant documents to a competent probate litigation attorney, and have that attorney review the matter.
