Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
I have been taking care of my niece for about 4 years. She is 16 years old and she does not have a relationship with mother or father. My mother, her grandmother, just recently passed away and left her a beneficiary of one of her bank accounts. I do not have legal guardianship but have proof of caring for her. What rights do I have in this decision. There are bills that have to be paid that my mother has left behind and other things that is related to my mothers business affairs.

You probably need to do a probate Court guardianship if you want to get the money before age 18. Call me if you want to hire an attorney. -John
