Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

My trust was registered with the IRS; however, I just learned that an attorney (who was imprisoned for fraud) altered the way it was registered and using the trust's tax id number inserted the name of a company after the number indicating that that company handled the trust. It doesn't, hasn't, and no papers to that effect have ever been signed, at least by me and legally. Is my best bet to contact IRS (I am the creator of the trust) and have that company's name removed, set up a different trust and open a bank account in that name, switch my holdings to the new trust's name or ///'/?
