trust
4 siblings are named in step mothers will -$15k each. the trustee claims that her mother left $50k in debts and no other money -so there is no money for us. we asked to see copies of these debts and she did not comply. we do not believe she had these debts. she had a home left to the daughter, the trustee. what to do?

First, a will only affects distribution of an estate that goes through probate. Assets in a Trust get distributed according to the trust agreement. If you are or likely would be a beneficiary under a trust document you are entitled by law to a copy of the document and an accounting for the trust assets and liabilities. If the trustee is not forthcoming, hire a lawyer. Typically only a letter from an attorney obtains an accounting. Failing that you will have to sue.
