Probate is a public proceeding so anyone can review the Court's files. You need to know the case number and in which County it was filed. Then go to that County's web site and see wht they have scanned into the system. Some Counties record almost every document sent to them.

You can hire an attorney in California to go to the court, pull the probate file and check it for regularity and court orders. Then the attorney can advise you from there.
