Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
tust funds
I am 18 years old and have been unofically living with a family friend for 6 years. My mother kicked me out when I was 12 and sent me to cail. She lives in Michigan. Our family owns a company, my grandfather put a trust in his will.I know knothing more than that. Now that I am 18 I started getting checks in the mail from the bank for my trust which is in Michigan. No letter of introduction, just a check. I have no contact with my mother and I don't know how to get a hold of her. I know she put a request into the bank to take over my finances because when I started getting the checks, she stopped sending my so called "parents" one. What can I do to find out my rights, or at least my trustees officers name. I don't know how to get ahold of them for information on college. Ect. I am so confused.

Re: tust funds
Mr. Brandwien is right the bank should know who the executor is. If it is your mother and she is refusing to let you see the will than she should be removed as executor before she spends whatever money belongs to you. Do you know if there is any other money besides the trust fund? Unless the fund specifically says you only get so much a month you should be able to draw on the account for college. If you would like additional information on how to get info on the trust please feel free to call me at 888-563-8529. You can also email me with your number and a good time to reach you and I will call you at your convenience. The call and consultation are free. I would be willing to work out a fee arrangement with you where you could pay payments. I realize that you do not have a lot of money so it makes it that much harder to just find someone who is willing to work with you without a large up front retainer. I look forward to speaking with you. By the way before you cash your next check make a copy of both sides so I can look at it and hopefully find out which bank it came from. Try not to stress about it right now things always work out.
Sincerely,
John Hayes

Next time a check comes simly look and see where the bank is located and call them. If there is no number, look for a web site or look in the yellow pages on the internet
