updating an estate/house title

My mother passed away 2 weeks ago. She cared for her sister and brother & their home prior to their passing. Neither uncle or aunt had a will or any children or spouses. The home is still titled in my uncle's name. My mother and her remaining 3 sisters were the survivors. What do we do with the home now. The 3 remaining sisters agree that my mother should have had rights to the house, but now she is deceased.

I'm sorry for your loss.

If the house is in California, it sounds like your mother's estate may have to be probated. It will also depend on how title in the real property was held.

You should contact an attorney in the state where the house was located.
