Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Waiver of Accounting by Distributee

My wife just recieved this letter, and we

were wondering if you could tell us what it

means?

I,(my wifes name), being one of the disributees

of the Estate of (grandmother's name), deceased,

do hereby waive the filing and settlement of

a final account by (mother's name) as exector

of said estate.

My wife was asked to sign this statement and

send it back to the lawyer. Her mother has

been very tight lipped with any information

about the estate. We belive the estate is

valued between 2 - 3 million dollars.

Re: Waiver of Accounting by Distributee

Dont sign it, they are trying to rip off your wife. having them file the final account is the only way to insure the probate lawyer and the mother are not stealing from the estate.
