Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California
Waiving all rights to an inheritance
If my mother passed away, I am not interested in receiving any property or assets from her estate, will or testament. I would like to waive all my rights officially now. What can I do to make this legally binding now and in the future?
Your answer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Waiving all rights to an inheritance
You cannot waive your rights to inherit from your mother in advance. When she passes away, if you do not want to inherit, you can deliver a written statement which completely and irrevocably waives any rights in the inherited property to the executor of your mother's estate within 9 months of her death. If you want to disclaim, you cannot make any use of your mother's property after her death and before you disclaim.
