if my ex wife passed away and left insurance money to a child from a different man, can the two children from our marriage receive any benifits

No. Insurance is not part of her estate unless she named her estate the beneficiary of the insurance and then made a will giving the proceeds to an heir or heirs. Absent a carefully drafted will excluding them, however, your children should share equally in her estate (if any) with the other child.
