will and/or trust
i own my vehicle and an investment, on which i live.
do i HAVE to see an attorney to bequeath these two items?

You do not HAVE to see an attorney to engage in your own estate planning, just as you do not HAVE to see a dentist when you need a tooth pulled. But the do it yourself results aren't always good. It's not clear from your question what level of assets are involved. the could own the car jointly, there are pros and cons. if you do it will go to the other holder upon your death. you might be able to designate a beneficiary on your investments. contact your brokerage.
