Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Concerning Will & Estate Statement

I have need a answer to this long dragging problem. When, I was 13 my father and my step brother died in a car accident. They left me money and possibly estate from the will. However,my mother and my father were spilt up long ago, so they didn't live toward. There are also other members in the will. It's been almost 7-8 years, since there death.Since I was only 13 at the time, the control was put in the hands of this other family individual. The lawyer that was put into control said that the settlement is settled, however, they have to get someone to exchange the numbers. It's been over 3-4 years since the lawyer said that.I don't know what to do.Do I have any control over the case, since I wasn't put as the "guardian" of the case,or the "head" of the will. And,does that mean that I have to wait until that person exchanges the numbers?Or do I have other options, like hiring my own lawyer to settle the will and possibly estate settlement.I feel really helpless with this case, since I was 13 at the time,so I had no control to speak of in the first place. And the other individuals in the case, like my step brother saids that she has lost contact with my aunt since she sold some housing that was held in another country and pocketed the cash herself
