Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Will, Estate

My wife's father died and then his wife died. Yes, she has been told that she is on the will by the executor. The problem is, it has been over a year and a half, and my wife has tried to find out how long this takes. They've told her a year. As far as she knows, the IRS has been notified and has cashed whatever monies owed. But the problem is they never really say anything anymore about getting this settled and notifying my wife when she can expect something from the attorneys. My question, does she have any legal course as to requesting any type of paperwork of the will plus can she legally use an attorney to get some answers and action on how much longer this will take. It sounds like they are procrastinating and jerking her around. Thanks.

Re: Will, Estate

You can and should appear in the probate. You will get copies of all fiings is you do. Also, if you think the Executor is not handling his responsibilities you can petition the court to replace him.
