Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in California

Will Registry

I am trying to find my Mother's will, I know she wrote one while she lived in San Fransico a few years ago - how can I go about finding it - are wills registered?

Dorlores Marie Campbell (nee Gamilis) DOB May 29, 1928

Any help you can give me is very much appreciated,

Sincerely,

Re: Will Registry

No, wills are not registered. You need to see if it was with any of her other belongings. If an attorney drew the will, then he should have a copy or the original.

If there is no will, then her estate is transferred through "Intestate Succession", whereby the state determines how it is divided, in accordance with state law. Generally, it goes to her husband (if married at the time) and her children.

Re: Will Registry

There is no registry. You need to find it among her personal items. Many people put them in a safety deposit box-Martin
